Just Friends or Secret Crushes: Chapter 3
It was a fine Friday morning. It had just rained and the weather was sensational and cooling, making it feel like we were at Genting Highlands. I had just created the one-metre-away-from-Jun-Chuan rule and I think things are going pretty well.
Well, at least until this happened...
Nydia and I were walking to the canteen for recess. “You are crazy to ship me with 8 people,” I said. “You're the one that is crazy enough to keep falling for hot boys.” “No, I fall for cute boys, not hot, just cute. Besides, how's Jun Chuan supposed to be ‘hot’?” I asked.
Just then, guess who just brushed past me. Jun Chuan. Damn him. “Wa lau eh (this is Manglish), 有没有搞错哦？他已经破坏了我的记录！(Is he serious? He broke my record!)” I complained in monotone, loud enough for Nydia to hear.
When we reached the canteen, Nydia wanted to go and buy a bottle of water. “No Nydia, don't leave me!” “Aiyo, I only go buy water lah.” “Yeah, but you know good and well that JC is right over there!” I pointed in his direction. She just laughed and went.
Of course, me being me, I followed her just to keep my dignity (or at least stop Park Lam from teasing me).
When I got back to class, guess what happened? Jun Chuan came in the opposite direction. I was like, just great. I ran back down the stairs and looked back, he was still following me. I ran, or rather, just walked quickly down and turned left, leading me to class 5M. Well, I was actually deciding on running back up, but then I was distracted by my old friend, Chi Ying.
