“Bye (Y/N)-chan,” said Yeonmi before disappearing into the crowd of Night Class students. You were a 17-year-old Day Class student that attended Cross Academy with Yuuki Kuran. You decided to go for a midnight walk. You were a human, of course, so you were sorted into the Day Class along with other humans and Level E vampires.

You walked towards the school courtyard and opened the glass doors leading outside. You were walking like you did everyday when you heard distant footsteps approaching. You dived behind the bushes, hoping whoever it was wouldn't find you.

“It's no good hiding, (Y/N). I could have saw you a mile away. Why are you even out here?” It was Zero Kiryū. You remained silent, wishing that you could just run away from him. Confession wasn't really your thing. “Did you lose anything?” You shook your head. “I-I was just taking a midnight stroll, like I always do.”

He shook his head, but said calmly, “(Y/N), the school grounds at night are dangerous. I'll let you off with just a warning this time, now go.” You obeyed and left without another word. Only a warning, you were surprised. Zero would've sent other students straight to the headmaster. Why were you any different.

When you reached your room, you were extremely tired, but you couldn't sleep. The memory played in your mind like a nonstop movie. Finally, you were able to fall into an uneasy sleep.

You sat down in your seat next to Yuuki in History class. The teacher was separating the pupils into two in a group to do a class project. You opened up a book beneath your desk and started reading. You jerked out of your stupor when your name was called. “Finally, we have (L/N) with...”
