“Finally, we have (L/N) and Kiryū,” said the History teacher. Yuuki looked a little disappointed but shrugged it off. “Good luck (Y/N), I'm with Kaname Kuran, see you later,” Yuuki said and walked off to sit by Kaname. You looked over at Zero. 

He caught your gaze and nodded his head, signalling for you to sit by him to do the project. A few girls looked highly envious, and some of them giving you the evil eye, as if you manipulated the teacher into pairing you with Zero. You felt your cheeks grow warm as you stuffed everything in your bag, took it and sat by him. 

“What topic do you want to do?” he asked. You were gazing outside, daydreaming about how much time you and Zero were going to spend with each other when you snapped out of your temporary stupidity. “Um, what?” “I asked what topic do you want to choose?” He sounded irritated, but disguised it with a calm tone.

“You choose,” you said, pushing the textbook towards him. He pushed it back, “I don't care what it's  about, just choose and I'll help.” Yeah, you'll help to just watch me do all the work. You can get no marks for all I care, you thought bitterly.

You started flipping through the pages absent-mindedly, randomly picking one to do. “We're going to have our next class in the library, so you can do more research then,” he said, with a fake happiness covering his tone.
